Project Description

TechFArM (Technology for Food Agriculture and Marine) focusing on three research streams:

  • Solutions for Food system: Technologies and Methodologies for voluntary food traceability – IoT for farming, transformation and distributions monitoring, Blockchain for data security and authentication, Big data for food quality, Solutions for House Farming and Urban Garden, Augmented reality, engagement and interactive tools for marketing tools.
  • Solutions for Blue Growth:Technologies and Methodologies useful to support the sustainable growth of marine and maritime industries – IoT for marine ecosystem monitoring, blue fishing, energetic sustainability, Smart cage for acquaculture
  • Solutions for Agriculture: Technologies and Methodologies for farming and monitoring – Big Data for environmental monitoring, Robots, Smart Pergola Structures and Green House, DSS for agribusiness, Additive Manufacturing for farming structures realization.

  • Food-bone hazard monitoring of marine environmental,
  • Fishing traceability,
  • Traceability of fishing tool sustainable,
  • Business and environmental model for Blue Fishing,
  • Energetic sustainability,
  • Environmental monitoring methodologies and system,
  • Crops monitoring system.
  • Analysis and design of socio-technical platform that enables to the entire agrifood chain to take traceability paths, leveraging on sustainable business models.
  • Analysis and design of solutions useful to sustainable growth strategy of marine industry, referring to: monitoring of marine ecosystem (underwater drones, molecular sampling, DSS, augmented reality sistems, image detection systems); Blue fishing through traceability sistems for tool and fishes; Aquaculture through automation, nano-food for fish, production parameter monitoring using science omiche; energetic sustainability.
  • Analysis and design of solutions to support sustainable agriculture that respect the health and the environment bringing to safety food.
