The VMAN project aims at optimizing processes and products in the context of Oil&Gas industry, by applying digital technologies (CAD, CAE, CAM and Virtual Reality) and innovative production techniques (Additive Manufacturing). Its main purposes are: the development of multidisciplinary and multi-objective optimization methodologies for Product/Process Development; the analysis of the potential of Additive Manufacturing for Oil&Gas products feasibility studies; the integration of CAX technologies (CAD, CAE, CAM) in a Virtual Reality environment, for the benefit of industrial design, assembly and maintenance of products and complex structures. The products of interest for the project are valves and multistage pumps.

Integration of CAx tools within a Virtual Reality environment, for visualizing and manipulating CAD files, for visualizing and querying data related to thermo-fluid dynamic simulations (CAE), and those related to cutting simulations on numerical control machines (CAE and CAM)
